3 Day Tour - BEIJING

DAY 1: Forbidden City & Imperial Tour (half day)
The morning begins with a visit to Tiananmen Square where one is overwhelmed by the power and authority of China's Stalinist architecture. Then a walk under Mao's gaze under the Tiananmen gate into the depths of the Forbidden City, home of emperors from the Ming and Qing Dyanasties, through the quarters of Emperor Qian Long and a peak at the curtain from which Empress Dowager ruled behind. Then to the pavilions of Coal Hill for the best view of Beijing where the last Ming emperor hung himself. End with a stroll through the Beihai imperial gardens, once palace of Kublei Khan and residence of Marco Polo.

Old Beijing (half day)
Morning begins with a visit to the Temple of Heaven, epitome of Ming architectural splendor. Followed by a visit to Dashala'r the bustling business section of old Beijing near the historic Qianmen front gate, and then on to Liulichang, a restored Qing street full of art galleries and antique brousing.
